Transport

PJM Economics works across transport modes, and across the world, on studies involving stated and revealed preference research, and on the application of valuations in appraisals.

Our work in the transport sector has included:

  • Revealed preference econometric analysis of rail demand based on online booking data.
  • Multiple stated preference studies for UK train operating companies to support franchise bids.
  • Multiple stated preference studies exploring the drivers of demand for travel across a variety of modes and simulating the impact of interventions on demand and revenues.
  • Multiple studies to obtain estimates of the value of travel time for use in transport investment appraisals and frameworks.
  • A stated preference study for Transport for London exploring the impact of the proposed Ultra Low Emissions Zone on vehicle purchasing and travel choices.
  • A stated preference study for Transport for London valuing, individually, the impact of dozens of potential interventions across multiple modes.
  • A stated preference study for Suffolk County Council exploring the likely impacts caused by the proposed Sizewell C power plant development and preferences over mitigation options.
  • A stated preference study for University College London exploring the monetary value of the harm of community severance caused by road-widening schemes.
